How often can my child use the CDBS?
Your child can use the CDBS for up to $1,095 worth of dental services over two calendar years.
Do I need to pay upfront for services covered by CDBS?
No, you do not need to pay upfront. The costs for covered services are directly billed to Medicare.
What happens if the $1,095 limit is exceeded?
If the limit is exceeded, you will be responsible for any additional costs. Your dental team will discuss treatment options and costs with you before proceeding.
Can unused funds be carried over to the next year?
No, any unused funds cannot be carried over to the next two-year period.
Is there a waiting period for CDBS?
There is no waiting period. As long as your child is eligible they can begin receiving dental care under the CDBS immediately.

Bulk-billed dental items are subject to Medicare requirements.

There are limitations to certain item numbers being performed

Up to $1,095 benefit over two consecutive calendar years per child

Covers examinations, X-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals, extractions and partial dentures. Many of these services have claiming restrictions.
